Your Nearest Elmhurst Dispensary Is Closer Than You Think
If you’ve been searching for an Elmhurst dispensary, you may have noticed that licensed options in western Queens are still pretty limited. Woodhaven Cannabis Co. is one of the closest legal, state-licensed adult-use dispensaries to Elmhurst — just a short drive or subway ride away at 6308 Woodhaven Blvd, right on the Rego Park, Forest Hills, and Middle Village border.
Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a regular looking for a reliable spot, this guide covers everything you need to know before you visit or place a delivery order. Think of it as a quick briefing from a budtender before you walk through the door.
1. What Makes This Elmhurst Dispensary Different
Woodhaven Cannabis Co. holds a New York State OCM license (OCM-CAURD-25-000256), which means every product on the shelf has passed through the state’s regulated supply chain. You’re buying from licensed New York growers — not some gray-market shop with mystery sourcing.
That distinction matters more than it might sound. New York’s Office of Cannabis Management requires licensed dispensaries to meet strict testing and labeling standards that unlicensed shops simply don’t follow. When you shop at a licensed elmhurst dispensary alternative like Woodhaven Cannabis, you know exactly what’s in what you’re buying.
The store carries flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and accessories. If you’re newer to cannabis and unsure where to start, our staff can help you work through the options without any pressure.
2. Getting Here from Elmhurst
Elmhurst sits just north of Woodhaven Blvd, making Woodhaven Cannabis Co. one of the most accessible dispensary options for residents in the neighborhood. By car, you’re typically looking at under ten minutes depending on traffic along Queens Blvd or Woodhaven Blvd itself.
If you’re coming by transit, the M and R trains at Elmhurst Ave put you within a few stops of the Forest Hills area, and local bus routes along Woodhaven Blvd run frequently. It’s a straightforward trip that most Elmhurst residents find very manageable.
Parking along Woodhaven Blvd is generally available, and the store is easy to spot. If you’ve already read our guide for nearby shoppers, the experience is similar — check out the Forest Hills dispensary guide for a sense of what the area looks like and what to expect on arrival.
3. Hours, ID Rules, and Payment — The Basics
As an elmhurst dispensary serving the broader Queens area, Woodhaven Cannabis Co. keeps some of the most convenient hours around. The store opens at 8am Monday through Friday — earlier than most Queens dispensaries — and stays open until 10pm on weeknights. Friday and Saturday hours run until 11pm, and Sunday hours are 9am to 10pm.
Everyone who enters must be 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions — this applies to in-store visits, pickup orders, and deliveries alike. If you’re bringing a friend, they’ll need ID too.
On payment: cash, debit card, and Aeropay are all accepted. Credit cards are not accepted, which is standard across New York licensed dispensaries due to federal banking rules. There’s no need to stress about it — just plan ahead and bring a debit card or cash.
4. How Online Ordering and Delivery Work
One of the most popular options for Elmhurst residents is local cannabis delivery. Woodhaven Cannabis Co. delivers to Elmhurst and a wide range of surrounding neighborhoods — including Rego Park, Forest Hills, Middle Village, Glendale, Maspeth, Kew Gardens, Maspeth, and Woodhaven. Delivery is free with an $80 minimum order, and same-day delivery is available until 9pm.
You can also order online for in-store pickup. Orders are typically ready in about 15 minutes, and the online menu opens 15 minutes before the store does each day. If you’re the type who likes to have everything sorted before you arrive, this is a great option. Just browse our menu at woodhavencannabis.com/store to see what’s currently in stock.
If you’ve used a similar system at another Queens location, the process is the same as what we describe in our Kew Gardens dispensary guide — pick your items, place the order, and you’re set.
5. What to Expect Inside Your First Elmhurst Dispensary Visit
Walking into a licensed elmhurst dispensary for the first time can feel a little different from what you might expect. It’s calm, organized, and staffed by real people who genuinely enjoy talking about cannabis. You won’t be rushed.
Once your ID is checked at the door, a budtender will help you figure out what makes sense for your goals and comfort level. Not sure whether you want flower, an edible, or something for winding down at night? Just ask. If you want to do some reading first, our post on cannabis and sleep is a good place to start if rest is what you’re after, or check out the cannabis and anxiety guide if that’s more relevant to your situation.
Woodhaven Cannabis also runs a rewards program tied to your phone number. Ask about it when you visit — it’s a simple way to get more out of every purchase over time.
